Intelligence type assessment

Intelligence type: All

Number of students:
  • Individual assignment

How it works:
  • Ask the students the questions in the chart bellow. If they answer YES, then they have to assign 1 (one) point to that question. If they answer NO, then they have to assign 0 (zero) points.
  • At the end they have to summarize the points by type of intelligence.
  • The Intelligence types with higher scores are the predominant ones.

Using this activity in the classroom:
  • This activity is designed for students so they can briefly assess what their strongest types of intelligences are. It also helps to give them an idea of what each type of intelligence is about.
  • I recommend doing this activity on the first day of class.
  • Start by briefly explaining to the class the theory of multiple intelligence. Then tell them that you are going to do an activity to help them find out what types of intelligences are the ones they have developed the most.
  • At the end of the exercise, the teacher can ask for the results (they could even be anonymous) to have an idea of the most predominant intelligence styles in the classroom.
  • Remember that you are not trying to compare the intelligences one to another, you are just trying to find which are the strongest ones in your classroom.
